Due to the evolving DOD budget, BRAC (Base Realignment and Closure), and reductions in Mil-Con funding, more commands are finding themselves realigned and requiring a higher degree of mobility.  They no longer have a "hard site" with receptacles on the wall to locate and power the equipment used in support of their mission.  Even if local commercial power is available, it is subject to aberrations in voltage and frequency, more so if it is on some distant shore.  Additionally, it is not always available at the desired voltage, frequency or capacity.  The DOD's general inventory of MEP (Mobile Electric Power) generators, while powering the now mobile equipment, does not offer any significant

degree of protection for the more sensitive loads being powered.

The solution to these dilemmas is a stand-alone Modular Integrated Mobile Power System™ (MIMPS™) from Tactical Power Systems Corporation.  These systems are containerized quality power centers consisting of some or all of the following.

Automatic Transfer Switch - provides source selection
Uninterruptible Power Supply - offers continuous sanitized power with varying

selections of capacity and support time; battery alternatives include flywheel or other       energy storage systems

Distribution panelboards - allows varying degrees of load distribution, from bulk power     to individual circuit management
Environmental control systems - allows worldwide deployment
Automated system control
EMI/RFI and/or HEMP shielding options
Connectivity with GFE
Generators

MIMPS™ solutions have been specified by USCENTAF, USSTRATCOM CMAH, SPAWAR, NAVAL ELECTRONICS SECURITY COMMAND and US ARMY CECOM among others.  Our equipment is currently deployed by the DoD worldwide in many locations including Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and other locations around the globe including Japan and Germany.

Integrating with experience, high workmanship standards, and quality components, Tactical Power Systems Corporation is dedicated to self-contained UPS systems designed for global deployment.  Our Modular Integrated Mobile Power System™ (MIMPS™) consists of totally integrated and coordinated Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS), Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), battery, (supplemental flywheel optional) switchgear and associated support equipment.   It is designed to supply continuous, clean power to critical loads from one of two sources via the ATS, switchgear and UPS.  Upon failure of the preferred source, the UPS inverter will draw input power
from the battery (or alternate DC source) while maintaining its rated output (for the duration of battery capacity remaining).  The ATS will issue a command causing an auto-start generator (if so equipped) to start.  After validating the power characteristics of the generator (or alternate source), the ATS will transfer the MIMPS to the new source.  Upon restoration of the preferred source, the ATS will retransfer the MIMPS to that source.  All the while, mission critical equipment sees no aberrations. Manual control of the entire system, ATS and generator is possible, allowing maximum mission up-time.

Tactical Power Systems Corporation performed the design, manufacturing, and subsequent integration assistance effort for the U.S. Army's CECOM, Guard Rail Common Sensor program power equipment.  The multi-unit procurement for the Automatic Master Paralleling Control and Switching Systems (AMPCSS) was handled by the OO/ALC PCCIE office at Hill AFB.  These systems involved the complete automation of four government furnished MEP generators including auto-start, synchronizing, load sharing, load management, fault annunciation and operator selectable redundant configurations while no modifications were permitted to the Government furnished equipment.  Load distribution is also a feature of this containerized system.
